Hi All,
Currently going through the process of restoring some of my Mats while I have some time off over Chrissy.
I have 5or6 on the go at the moment.
This is my late 70's Vantage 650VS.
Bought her a while back it a bit of a sad state.
Non working, no control cavity or truss rod cover, half the wiring cut (hence why she was not working).
An old imperial pot installed as one of the volumes, with the knob jammed on to it.
No tuners,
Headstock full of holes from all different tuners.
Really really gungy fretboard.
Lot of chips, scratches & dings, but nothing too major.
Very proud of her now though as she has come up very nicely.
Have given her a full fret dress & polish & cleaned the fretboard,
Filled all of the dings & holes,
repaired the wiring,
rebuilt the bridge,
repaired the nut,
Fitted a set of nice old Grover USA Tuners,
Made new trussrod & control cavity covers,
The control cavity cover she is waring is from my VP710B, as the one I made fitted her better, her original one was a bit small & the VP710B's one fits her perfectly.
Just finished polishing her up & will throw on some strings this evening.
Enjoy.
Cheers.
