Looks like a beauty! But at CAD$500 it's a tad too rich for moi (even if I had the dough...which I don't)

Good spot Don. I guess they started to give some models names in addition to numbers to try and make them sexier and easier to remember, like the "Witch".
Johann, anything more?

You've got a few Devils there, as well!! I remember seeing the names in a French - I think!! - brochure ages ago.... Spirit, Ghost, Demon, Witch, Devil....

...Demon II (VP795), Spectre (VSH455 I think), Vampire (the "Flying V", whose model number I can't remember)...

IIRC these names were in a magazine article or something connected to a European trade show (Musikmesse?) that Mozart posted.

Apparently the North American distributors didn't think that these "satanic" names would go over too well on this side of the Atlantic of the Atlantic.

Image shack pics are gone . gotta look if I`have stored the pics on my old Laptop. I still own the magazines, classified somewhere in my Music room.

From several sources I've collected over the years, European VANTAGE distributors were using names like ghost, demon, specter, aso in preference to the "letter/number model name". At least in the early eighties (1980 - 1983)! Dunno if it's the same for the US/CAN.

Dunno if this is the same seller but I think it may be. Original link has been deleted.
And, dunno if this is connected with the recent alleged purchase by forum member Graham either.

Lots that I "dunno", ya know?

If you don't know but you know that you don't know, then you know.
If you don't know and you don't know that you don't know, then you don't know. . .
