Looks to be all original. A little TLC and it would be a killer axe. Believe it or not it even had the whammy bar for the Kahler. I know a lot of people hate the Kahler but I hate the Floyd enough to even out the odds. I had a KW and wish I had never sold it.

The RS guitars are HIGHLY underrated. Probably even more so than the CS guitars.
I have a 1st gen as well as a 2nd gen similar to this one. Totally different machines but both are fantastic.
Pretty sure that's the Flyer model which is the budget Kahler but I still prefer it to the Floyd Rose.
Wouldn't that blade humbucker be an MMK45?
This would certainly be a nice score. It will compare well with any Strat.

Yup it is a Flyer. The blade pickups are not as hot as you would think but do compete with "high gain" pickups of the period. Compared to a Floyd I hardly had to do much tuning in between sessions with the Flyer. It almost always landed in tune, well for a trem anyway.

I currently have an RS-Bobcat IV with the two point fulcrum floating trem and it is most definitely a Strat killer. I've also installed a Trem-Endus so it drops back in tune after bending and the Wilkinson Hot Single Coils absolutely rock. It easily knocks a Feigndor's **** in the dirt.

Anyway, the blade pickups do not rock and leave nothing in the dirt... "lackluster" is the adjective that comes to mind...

I wasn't impressed with the blade pickups either. I swapped them out for a set of OBLs which made a huge difference. I put the stock pickups back in it when I sold it though. To me they are at best PAF output which wasn't much compared to DiMarzio of the same period. About as exciting as the MMK 75 Classic Powers. Meh. I have a PE-R60 with MMK 53 all hex pickups and they rock, at least with my rig anyway.

The Wilkinsons I have in my current RS are light years ahead of the stock. Pegging in at around 8K that is pretty hot for a SC. They break up nicely too.

I'm a fan of the Wilkinson gear.
I have 4 of the Vintage brand guitars with all Wilkie hardware and electronics.
I also replaced the UBC's on some Westone Spectrums with their humbuckers.
And, I put a couple of Wilkinson "GE Smith" half Tele bridges on a couple of other guitars of mine.

All great stuff at good prices. I'm very happy with it all.

True story. I gave a bud I used to jam with in my teens an RS-Bobcat-V loaded with Wilkinsons. Any guesses which guitar he keeps out to noodle around on?

I have a pair of Wilkinsons in my 2nd gen RS but I don't know what are other than hot. :D
I wasn't a big fan of the MMK75s in my PE-R80 either so, like and idiot, I traded it.
My PE-R60 has 53s and I LOVE those. :rockwoot:
