Can somebody help me identify this Shiro electric guitar.

Couldn`t find anything about the guitar from the net

It has a bolt on neck and it says MADE IN JAPAN on the
neck plate.

It's suggested that "Shiro" is a brand used by Shiro Arai Co, Aria's parent company.

Shiro was the namesake label for Shiro Aai, and produced as suspected by Matsumoku. Pretty much followed the designs of the same period Aria Pro IIs, in particular the TS and RS 1st run.

There have been a handful pass through eBay, and I played one much like the one pictured at a pawn shop but never really felt at home with the TS so I let that one go.

It's exactly the same for me. My TS and RS are basically collecting dust.

The funny thing is that I don't know why... the RS-X80 has the same neck dimensions as the U-100, but the neck does not feel as good.

One intresting feature I just noticed searching for clues from net
was that the guitar has vintage Washburn-type pick ups
with two screws for adjusting on the top side of the frame.

If you have a look through the early Aria & Pro II catalogues, they appear on a few of these guitars. They're also common on Yamahas from the same era but that's likely just coincidental. Next time you change strings, pop out one of the pups & see if there's anything stamped/printed on the back.

Very, very cool guitar, by the way. 8-)

Jon.
